User Preferences: Theme choice, model selection, and floating menu state are stored using Chrome’s storage API.
Chat History: Stored locally on your browser for your convenience.
No Personal Data: Alfred does not collect, track, or transmit personal data, browsing history, or page content.

Preferences and chat history are used only to enhance your experience within the Extension. AI models run entirely on-device; no text or chat data is sent to external servers.

Data Sharing

Alfred does not share or sell your data to any third parties. No external analytics or tracking is included.

Data Storage

All data is stored locally in your Chrome profile storage. You can clear stored data at any time using Chrome’s extension management or by clearing browsing data.

Permissions Justification

storage: To save user preferences and chat history locally.
sidePanel: To display Alfred’s AI chat interface.
contextMenus: To allow quick access to AI actions (explain, rewrite, comment) via right-click.
host Permissions: Required to show the floating menu and process selected text on webpages. No browsing data is collected.

Remote Resources

Alfred downloads AI models from trusted sources (e.g., Hugging Face CDN). No executable code is run remotely — only static model weights are downloaded and processed locally.

User Control

Users can clear data anytime from Chrome settings. The Extension will always remain functional even if history is cleared.
